Bowling For a Cause

The Pizza, Pins, & Pints fundraiser was a sold-out success, bringing the community together for a night of fun and giving to support The Children’s Museum of Wilmington (CMoW). At Cardinal Lanes Beach Bowl, 24 teams, made up of bowlers from all walks of life – including surfing enthusiasts, realtors, and healthcare professionals – competed for bragging rights and to benefit an excellent cause.

As the presenting sponsor for the second year in a row, REV joined hands with the Wilmington community in supporting CMoW, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing creative and interactive programs for kids aged 0 to 10. Serving children and their caregivers in the greater Wilmington area for 26 years and counting, the museum is spread across three historic buildings in downtown Wilmington, boasting 17,000 square feet of space filled with science, math, and art activities that spark imagination, curiosity, and a love of learning.

Patti Erkes, CMoW’s Director of Development, emphasized how REV’s ongoing partnership is crucial in ensuring the successful start of each year, aiding the museum to support children in Southeast North Carolina as they learn and grow through play and catering to the more than 70,000 visitors it welcomes annually. Guests at the event were treated to unlimited pizza, rounds of bowling, and locally brewed beers – all generously donated by Wilmington’s business community. In addition to their role as presenting sponsor, REV had 17 team members forming three teams out of the 24 in attendance that night.

To add to the fun, there was a pin decorating competition in the evening where the REV team entered two bowling pins to compete for a homemade trophy and of course – those bragging rights. The designs this year paid homage to the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, the venue where the popular REV Rocks Concert series has been bringing live music to Wilmington and its surrounding communities for the past three years. Funds raised from the event will support the maintenance of educational programs, exhibits, and outreach initiatives at the museum, where every visit offers an opportunity for lifelong learning.
