REV and Charleston RiverDogs Knock It Out of the Park for Community Giving

A day at the ballpark is always a good time. But when you fill the stands with people who spend their days making our community stronger, it becomes something even more meaningful.

REV and the Charleston RiverDogs recently teamed up for the Game of Give, a special day at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park celebrating the people and organizations that give so much to the Lowcountry.

The Game of Give brought together representatives and volunteers from 51 local nonprofit organizations, giving them an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, enjoy an evening at the ballpark, and celebrate the impact they make throughout our community.

Celebrating the People Behind the Good

Nonprofits are often asked to do more with less. Their teams and volunteers show up every day to support their neighbors, tackle challenges facing our communities, and create opportunities for people to thrive.

It’s worth celebrating.

Through the Game of Give, REV and the RiverDogs created a day dedicated to recognizing those individuals and organizations. Nonprofits were invited to enjoy the game together with friends, family, and supporters, turning a day of baseball into a celebration of community.

And, in true REV fashion, there was a little extra giving mixed in.

Through the UpTheGood Foundation, REV surprised nonprofit organizations during the evening with grants to help support the important work they do. Four local nonprofits received $2,500 grants, providing additional resources to help them continue serving the people who count on them.

It was more than just a day at the ballpark.

From volunteers and nonprofit teams to the people they serve, every person brought a reason to celebrate. For one day, the focus was on the people behind the good—and the community they work so hard to make better.

Giving Is a Team Sport

At REV, we believe growth means more when it creates a positive impact beyond our walls. That’s the idea behind Growth with Purpose and the work of the UpTheGood Foundation. The Game of Give is one more way we’re putting that purpose into action. Community impact doesn’t happen through the work of one organization or one person alone. It happens when people come together, lend a hand, and make room for others to succeed.

The nonprofits recognized at the Game of Give are already doing that work every day. REV and the RiverDogs were proud to shine a spotlight on them, celebrate their contributions, and give them a day to enjoy the community they’ve worked so hard to strengthen.

The Game of Give may have been played at the ballpark, but the real wins were happening all around the community.

Here’s to the volunteers, nonprofit teams, supporters, and community champions who continue to UpTheGood and make the Lowcountry a better place for everyone.
