When I started attending my new church, the pastor asked me if I wanted to take over the Women's Ministry. I said, 'well, sure, I can do as much as I can,' and one thing I implemented because I loved it was a book club. So every Thursday I host a 2-hour book club and we go through many books, but more than that, the women who join us talk about things that are going on in their lives that they want to talk about.

So I am very passionate about making sure that women have an opportunity to shut out their jobs and their families and have THEIR time, and it's a safe space for all of us just to be really open and honest and very vulnerable and help each other. Many women have been able to finally share about times where dark things are going on in their lives and it's helped them to get over what they've experienced and move forward. That energizes me because I feel, especially since it's faith-based, it invigorates my faith and my purpose. It's something that I think I was called to do, and it makes me feel good to be able to give back and to help women.

My testimony of my past is pretty deep as well, and I think that when I start sharing that with other women, they feel safe to speak to me. Then I am able to really walk them through my process and what it took to heal and just feel good about myself again, so it helps me rejuvenate to remember where I was and where I am now. And it helps other women get to that point, too. I was inspired by that movie First Wives Club; if I could do anything, and if I had the money to, I would create that non-profit center they have at the end of the movie, and I would get all different people who want to help women in that way!"
